It took me awhile to arrive here—if "arriving" is even a thing. Chasing the mythical unicorn of figuring it all out, I spent my college days pre-med and four years post-grad in a university lab researching how the (physical) heart works.
Yet, it was while learning to surf in Venice Beach that my heart studies took a different direction. Among many revelations, I realized that I didn't need a medical degree to learn what I wanted to about the human experience; there's a deeper rhythm hidden beneath life's surface. It's elusive and familiar all at the same time, and I want to set that beat to words.
I eventually left the lab and channeled that pursuit into roles such as Writer, Journalist, Managing Editor, Brand Strategist, Content Editor, and Creative Director. Today, I'm continuing to pursue projects that interest me [most recent links here, in print here, & personal musings here] while working with brands and individuals as freelance editorial consultant. I love the thrill of crossing borders, writing stories from my travels, and capturing what’s intangible on the page—usually with some interesting food or drink in tow.
In August of 2024, I also fulfilled a lifelong dream of moving to Italy. You can follow along on that journey below.
